THE 4th “EGG FESTIVAL” HOSTED BY OPT – HOUSES OF THE WORLD

On 26th March 2018 OPT hosted the 4th EGG FESTIVAL, an event full of joy, colours, internationality.

The main aim of this initiative is to involve the new generation of the area around OPT and to harmonize through the universal language of art such different cultures, like the Italian and Japanese one. Also this year the main protagonists were the children of the schools of Calliano and the members of the Cooperative Villa Maria in Calliano who, together with artist Roberta Donati, had fun in painting eggs of big dimensions.

The theme for this year was, “HOUSES OF THE WORLD” and that gave to the artists the possibility of using freely their phantasy: on the eggs they painted igloos, pagodas, skyscrapers and temples.

One person added an even more international flair to the event: Japanese artist Fujita Tetsuya, in traditional dress and in Ukiyoe style, depicted a huge portrait of Daruma, the monk that brought Buddhism to China.

Among all the guests, OPT testimonial and famous professional cyclist Francesco Moser, Doctor Antonello Forgione – surgeon specialist and Scientific Director of Aims Academy and Mr. Andrea Gallina – Plant Manager of Luxottica (Rovereto headquarter)  joined the festival in order to share the happiness of the children.

The day finished with a dinner inside the factory with all OPT workers, employees and guests. On this occasion the owner of OPT, Mr. Yasuhiko Sata, paid an homage to the late Dr. Mario Veronesi, founder of the biomedical district of Mirandola, by giving to his daughter as a gift a memorial wooden bas-relief made by Mr. Mirko Mittempergher, sculptor and OPT employee.
